Primary Pet Care: What to look for and when it's time to bring your pet to see our vet.

Primary Care Examination (Preventive Care, Vaccinations, Physical Exam, Medical Exam):

One of the best things you can do for your pet's health as well as reduce your pet's overall veterinary bill on a yearly basis is to take a preventative approach. This means that you can proactively do things that reduce the likelihood of your pet contracting certain diseases or developing certain medical problems. The key to preventative or primary care is to make sure your pet is up on all his/her vaccinations, get routine physical examinations to check heart, lung, and other vital signs and check routine blood work (heartworm test, CBC, and blood chemistry). As with people, pets do get sick, but early detection through regular visits to the vet can mitigate health problems before they get worse (and before they get more expensive). Pet's may also carry human tranferable diseases, sometimes directly in the case of ringworms or indirectly in the case of tick borne pathogens. We do a thorough examination of your pet and increase your awareness. You have the options and we have the capabilites to do the following:

After a thorough examination, we can administer recommended vaccinations, provide client advice for preventative care, or make other recommendations depending on our findings. With routine examinations we can have early detection to help mitigate problems before they get difficult to manage. Whatever the problem, we will determine the right mode of treatment for your pet's medical condition. We treat dogs, cats, rabbits, other small mammals, frogs, and reptiles.
